Jenny Lesser Holman & Erin Slomski-Pritz

New Media Gallery, Jack Straw Cultural Center, Seattle, WA

8/4/2023-9/29/2023

Dream Motif was a multimedia installation exhibited at Jack Straw Cultural Center’s New Media Gallery in Seattle, Washington from 8/4/2023-9/29/2023. Jenny Holman collaborated with sound artist Erin Slomski-Pritz to create a dream space. Jenny created custom functional art furniture, including a recycled chaise lounge (the “Nightmare Couch”) and wooden lounger (“Dream Chair”) covered in original acrylic paintings. Jenny also created two giant acrylic paintings, as well as an hour long animation that was projected on one wall of the gallery. The furniture and animations accompanied a soundscape created by Erin Slomski-Pritz that featured original music composed by Seattle based musicians and interviews with people who experienced prophetic dreams. Dream Motif explored the psychology of synchronicities and psychoacoustics.
